Introduction

Each payment request in Lynk generates a secure, time-limited payment link. These links are intentionally set to expire after 24 hours to reduce the risk of misuse and ensure safe transactions.

If a student does not complete the payment within this validity window, the link automatically expires and can no longer be used.

What Happens When a Link Expires

Once the link reaches its expiry time:

  • The request status changes to Expired

  • The payment page becomes inaccessible

  • The student cannot complete the payment using that link

  • Reminders can no longer be sent for the expired request

This behavior is automatic and cannot be reversed.

How to Collect Payment After Expiry

If a link expires before the student pays:

  1. Go to Payments β†’ Request Payment

  2. Select the same student

  3. Enter the amount and details again

  4. Create a new payment request

A fresh payment link with a new 24-hour validity window will be generated and shared.

Why Lynk Uses Link Expiry

  • Prevents outdated or forwarded links from being misused

  • Ensures payment intent stays current

  • Reduces fraud and reconciliation errors

  • Keeps the payment flow clean and auditable

Summary

Payment links expire after 24 hours by design. If a student misses the window, simply create a new payment request to generate a fresh link and continue the collection smoothly.
