Introduction
Each payment request in Lynk generates a secure, time-limited payment link. These links are intentionally set to expire after 24 hours to reduce the risk of misuse and ensure safe transactions.
If a student does not complete the payment within this validity window, the link automatically expires and can no longer be used.
What Happens When a Link Expires
Once the link reaches its expiry time:
The request status changes to Expired
The payment page becomes inaccessible
The student cannot complete the payment using that link
Reminders can no longer be sent for the expired request
This behavior is automatic and cannot be reversed.
How to Collect Payment After Expiry
If a link expires before the student pays:
Go to Payments β Request Payment
Select the same student
Enter the amount and details again
Create a new payment request
A fresh payment link with a new 24-hour validity window will be generated and shared.
Why Lynk Uses Link Expiry
Prevents outdated or forwarded links from being misused
Ensures payment intent stays current
Reduces fraud and reconciliation errors
Keeps the payment flow clean and auditable
Summary
Payment links expire after 24 hours by design. If a student misses the window, simply create a new payment request to generate a fresh link and continue the collection smoothly.
