Understanding the difference between states of auto payment requests

Introduction

Every Auto Pay reminder in Lynk has a status that controls its behavior. This status decides whether Lynk should actively monitor schedules or attendance and send payment reminders—or simply store the rule without taking any action.

Understanding Active and Paused helps you manage billing without deleting and recreating reminders.

Active Status

When an Auto Pay reminder is marked as Active:

  • Lynk tracks the reminder rule (monthly date or class count).

  • Payment reminders are automatically triggered when the rule is met.

  • Payment links are sent without any manual intervention.

Use Active when billing should continue as planned.

Paused Status

When an Auto Pay reminder is Paused:

  • The reminder rule remains saved.

  • No tracking or triggering happens.

  • No payment reminders or links are sent.

Paused reminders are useful during temporary breaks, holidays, or when you want to stop billing without losing the setup.

Summary

Active reminders run automatically as configured, while Paused reminders stay safely stored without triggering—giving you full control over when billing should happen.
