Introduction
In Lynk, a payment moving to Paid does not mean the money has immediately reached your bank account. There is a short processing period between payment collection and final settlement, during which the payment is prepared for payout.
This gap is normal and exists because online payments must pass through payment gateways and banking settlement rails before funds can be deposited.
What “Paid” Means
When a payment shows as Paid, it means:
The student has successfully completed the payment
The transaction has been confirmed by the payment gateway
The amount is now eligible for settlement
At this stage, the money is secured but not yet deposited into your bank account.
Why Settlement Does Not Happen Immediately
After a payment is marked as Paid, it enters a processing phase. This happens because:
Payment gateways batch and verify transactions
Settlements are processed on fixed payout cycles
Bank transfers (such as NEFT) follow scheduled clearing windows
Because of this, settlement typically follows a T+1 cycle, rather than being instant.
What Happens During Processing
During the processing phase:
Lynk prepares the payment for payout
The payment is grouped with other eligible payments for the day
The expected deposit timeline is calculated and displayed
This ensures accuracy, fraud checks, and smooth bank transfers.
How You Know When It Will Settle
For Paid payments:
Lynk shows the expected deposit timeline
The payment automatically moves to Settled once the payout is completed
No manual action is required from your side
You can track this progression from the Payouts sections.
When the Status Changes to Settled
A payment becomes Settled when:
The payout has been initiated
The funds have been deposited into your registered bank account
Once settled, the payment is fully completed in the payment flow.
Summary
A payment can be Paid but not yet Settled because settlement follows a structured processing and payout cycle. While collection happens instantly, deposit to your bank takes place after gateway and banking processing—ensuring reliable and secure payouts.
